So we went wayyy past “next week” whoops! Things have been a bit cray, cray over here but we’re going with the flow. I’m definitely excited it’s a new year. Time for a new mindset, making new habits, and setting realistic goals. In January I had cut out magazine clips to make a vision board but I stashed them away so I’ll be pulling them back out and finishing that project. It’ll be my first actual vision board! I also chose my word for the year (another first!) I chose INTENTION. I may or may not go more into that in a separate post. A few other things lately: I found the perfect natural nail color- “Put it neutral” by OPI. I tried my very first chemical peel (level 1) a couple months back and have been and now have been alternating between level 1 and 2 every month since. LOVE and you have to try it!! I will definitely will be going in more detail with before and afters. I’ve been working out since the 2023 started and have been consistent. Very proud of myself! Aiming for 5 days/week and I’ll get better with my eating down the road haha again realistic goals right now.
Two trends I’m loving: Denim on Denim & Metallics
Metallics
The first time I fell in love with metallic anything was when an older friend had painted her toes metallic silver back in 2000. After the early 2000’s I feel like the trend died down but its back and here to stay until further notice. Here are a few pieces that can be worn now, Spring, and Summer. Obsessed with the orange and brown/copper tones and these dresses!
Denim on Denim
Denim on denim is just…chefs kiss! You can’t go wrong with pairing almost any shade of denims shirt, jacket, pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, shoes, or purse/bag (yes all of them.) My fave and easiest combos are blue on blue, black and blue, black and white, and white and blue. You can stick to neutral accessories or add color with the shoes or bag for a bold look. My fave is the blue on blue denim for a little monochrome moment. Styled both the denim on denim and metallic trends here:
Last & Current Reads
I finally finished “Where the Crawdads Sing” a couple of weeks ago. I don’t blame the time it took me to read it on the story line itself, I think I just wanted to read a book with more dark suspense/mystery. I genuinely enjoyed it and ended up really liking it. It pulled on my heart strings and yeah the surprise did surprise the hell out of me 🙂 The release of the movie is what ultimately pushed me to start the book and I have to say they did amazing at portraying the story. There’s only a few movies that have done that for me. I have started “The Guest List” and almost halfway through. As of now I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. Random thoughts: I like how most chapters are from different characters’ point of view, some of their thoughts are twisted but I guess this makes them realistic, a group of the characters bring up a past time of theirs many times to the point it kind of gets annoying (nothing crazy annoying and it could just be me), and yes someone dies (chill this is said in the book summary) but I’m not sure if they were killed by a human or something else..
My Amazon Wishlist
Sharing my recent Amazon wish list. I like putting these together to give gift ideas for ones with similar style to mine or just share cute things you might like if we share (or don’t) the same taste.
